One of the greatest myths that entrepreneurs subscribe to is that you cannot automate your business without a website. I understand that thinking! I used to think that way as well. But the truth is that for many, creating a website is tough to do at the start. Thankfully, we are in 2021, and several other options are available to you to monetize your business in a digital space without a website. Let me share a little story with you:
When I first started my coaching business, I didn’t have a website. But I understood my business model. I was able to utilize free platforms to create a seemingly automated customer service experience. This allowed me to monetize my Instagram page and Facebook page and gave me the ability to convert clients to my programs, digital products, special events, and courses.
I think the automation of vision is a much bigger deal than the invention of perspective.

The three main inputs that helped me to design that interactive ‘automated’ experience without a website were:
1. I had a solid business model.
I understood what I was trying to build.
2. I mapped out the client experience that I was trying to develop.
I thought about it like an IKEA experience (that lifestyle store we all love to go to). When you visit IKEA, there is a map to guide you and arrows on the floor to help you to go through the entire store. So I thought about my customer service like an IKEA experience: the clear point-to-point experience that I was trying to build.
3. I thought about the relationships that I wanted to build with persons who came into contact with my business.
Even though there was automation, I didn’t want it to feel robotic. It was important for the people who came to my platform to talk to me. Even if it was through a supported channel. This made a big difference in my choice of services. It is also the reason why, to this day, I don’t use automated bot messenger apps. Maybe that would change when I find one that suits my style.
Those three (3) inputs helped me to utilize free platforms to create unique bonds with my customers and monetize my business from my social media pages. So why am I sharing this with you? Because I want you to remove the limitations of yourself. There is a way for you to automate your business without your website and make money online at this moment. And guess what? Once you earn money, you can then invest it in creating the website that you’ve always dreamed of having.
These sites helped me to move my community from social media followers to customers. Here are three (3) that were so instrumental in taking my business to the next level:
1. Google Forms
Google forms are one of the most underutilized resources, and it’s 100% free. Have we seen some horrible Google forms in the past? Yes, we have! And the reason for that is most people don’t understand what they are trying to achieve with these forms. That being said, Google forms remain a powerful tool to get meaningful information. You can use it to create new bookings; to get new orders right in a digital space; to help you move your clients from just liking your content to buying your products.
2. Calendly
If you have a service-based business, Calendly is your friend (and you should hop onto it while there is a free option). Calendly allows you to get people on your schedule to book calls while being asleep. Imagine that someone is scrolling on your page at 1:00 am, and they can still make an appointment to meet with you. This is what it looks like to stop leaving money on the table. When you have good content with nowhere for folk to go to next, you leave money on the table.
3. Amazon
Amazon was the first platform that I sold my ebooks before I had a website. The Ultimate Goal Setting Workbook sold so many copies as a digital product when I didn’t have a website at that time. Now, this book is available digitally on my website and in print on Amazon. And guess what? If you are in the Caribbean, it is even more exciting because now Amazon allows us to become professional sellers on their website.

4: JotForm
Jotform literally has thousand of forms and templates that you can use to sell products, digital items, events, classes, registration, etc. What is cool about JotForm is that there are integrations for PayPal, Zoom, and a bunch of other tools that can make collecting payment and setting appointments easier. There is a free option on JotForm as well as paid options where you can include your own branding so it looks like your website. Check it out here: JotForm Info.
